A-LEVEL GENERAL STUDIES

In General studies we follow the AQA specification B syllabus. All AS level students take this subject with the bulk of the work taking place within foundation. General Studies covers a broad range of topics;

Science and Technology
Society and Politics
Arts and Media
Industry and Commerce
Belief and values

The breadth and depth covered by the syllabus increases the general knowledge of the student and enables them to think about topics not covered in their AS levels. Over half of British universities now accept the General Studies qualification and the programme offers something for everyone. The course is taught by your tutor and you will study for 2 units in year 12 and 2 unis in year 13. It is compulsory to complete the AS course, but the A2 programme is optional.
