A LEVEL HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE DOUBLE AWARD

Students decide to study for the double AS & A2 Health & Social Care (HSC) award in addition to the single award because they want the extra breadth and understanding of the field that the units shown below provide.

These extra units cover areas which are important as background to both HND and Degree courses as well as Health industry employment.

Year One AS

Unit 4:  Health & Safety in Care Settings 1 ½ hr written exam.

Unit 6:  Working in Early-Years Care and Education. Portfolio
              internally assessed.

Unit 7:  Health as a Lifestyle Choice. Portfolio internally assessed.

Year Two A2

Unit 11:  Understanding Human Behaviour 1 ½ hr written exam.

Unit 15:  Social trends. 1 ½ hr written exam.

Unit 16:  Research Methods in Health and Social Care
               Portfolio internally assessed
