A LEVEL HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE SINGLE AWARD
Students decide to study AS & A2 Health & Social Care (HSC) because they are interested in the care, education and support of various client groups such as young children and the elderly. This subject helps to provide students with the underpinning knowledge required for HND and Degree courses in many subjects including Nursing, Psychology and Social Work.
If students do not opt for higher education after A2 the course can lead to a number of employment opportunities in areas such as, Care Assistant, Playworker and Care Work in hospitals.

Year One AS
Unit 1: Promoting Quality Care 1 ½ hr written exam.
Unit 2: Communication in Care Settings Portfolio internally assessed.
Unit 3: Promoting Good Health Portfolio internally assessed.
Year Two A2
Unit 10: Care Practice and Provision Portfolio internally assessed.
Unit 12: Anatomy and Physiology in Practice 1 ½ hr written exam.
Unit 13: Child Development Portfolio internally assessed.
