Community Sports Leaders Award

COMMUNITY SPORTS LEADERS AWARD

The Award in Community Sports Leadership is a nationally recognised qualification.
It is held in high regard by employers, colleges and Universities. (It is currently being awarded UCAS points status).
 
There are eight units to the course. These are as follows:-
1.         Organising and delivering sports activities.
2.         Establishing and maintaining safe sports activities including First Aid Course.
3.         Understanding the structure of UK Sport.
4.         Principles of leading fitness sessions.
5.         Principles and Practice in Running Sports Events & Competitions.
6.         Principles and Practice in Adapting Sports Activities.
7.         Selection, plan and head an appropriate number of Sports Activities.
8.         Demonstration of Leadership Skills in the Community (including 10 hours voluntary).

The course is practically based, 35 hours in length (one session per week). All students are required to keep a log book.

Essential requirements
1.         Reliability.
2.         Enthusiasm for Sport.
3.         Sound level of fitness.
4.         High level of Initiative.

A high level of personal Sports performance is an advantage, but not essential.
