FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT

To be studied alongside level 2 or level 3 (A-level) courses:

Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club and Ports lade Community College In conjunction with the Football Club the college is providing students with the opportunity to undertake the Football Development Course.

Course Outline:

Module 1
Individual Player and Team Development Incl. First-Aid and Child Protection

Module 2
Individual Player and Team Development Team Tactics

Module 3
Assessment Practical & Theory

Course Tutor: Mr D. Gupp, Head of B & H Albion School of Excellence. All students who complete the course will qualify for the
F .A. Level One Coaching Award.

The course would benefit those students who:
a) wish to further refine their levels of skills and team play
b) intend to play at a semi-professional level
c) are considering a career in teaching or coaching
d) enjoy playing football at a recreational level.

Course entry requirements: Students should be:

Physically fit reliable
Motivated in theory and practical

Be prepared to play in 6th Form Eleven-a-side matches
