NVQ LEVEL TWO - HAIRDRESSING

This will consist of a package which will involve 1 day a week in the salon at Chalky Road , 1 day a week in a placement and a combination of other subjects at the Sixth Form Centre either at Level 2 ( GCSE Maths and English) or at level 3 (AS Level).

Nine Units must be completed for the full NVQ. Each candidate must complete the seven Mandatory Units plus either H12, H15 or H16 and one Optional Unit.

Duration of course 22 months, with work placement.

Mandatory Units (all must be completed)
G1       Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health & safety
G5       Give clients a positive impression of yourself and your organisation
G7       Advise and consult with clients
H6        Cut Hair using basic techniques
H9        Shampoo and condition hair and scalp
H10      Style, dress and finish hair using basic techniques
H13      Change hair colour using basic techniques

Plus Either
H12 Perm and neutralise hair using basic techniques

Plus 1 of the following Option Units:
G4       Fulfil salon reception duties
G6       Promote additional products and services to clients
G8       Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work
H11      Style hair using basic plaiting techniques and added hair
