Curriculum Support Department (CSD) - Here to Help

C.S.D. identifies and provides for the needs of students on the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Record, in accordance with the 'Code of Practice on Special Educational Needs'. We also provide help for those not on the Record.

What do we do?

Teaching Assistants (TAs) go into lessons across the curriculum to offer support to those students who are identified on our SEN Record. Additionally, we withdraw small groups and individuals for more intensive support for literacy and numeracy. We also organise reading, spelling, numeracy and keyboard skills programmes.
In other words... we're here to help!

We also...

   •  offer a Games Club, an Arts and Crafts club and a Hip Hop Rap club at lunchtimes throughout the week. Drop into Room 42 to find out more…
   •  host an after school drop in session for an hour after school Monday to Thursday to offer help with homework or any other school related concerns. Students can make use of our computers to complete homework or ask CSD staff for support and advice. Students can drop in for 5 minutes or the full hour - whatever they feel is necessary.
   •  offer lunchtime 'TypeQuick' sessions in Room 18 for those students who want to improve their keyboard skills. These sessions are open to all year groups.
And...here in CSD, we are accessible to all students, which we feel is very important!
