Countryside Alliance
Useful to compare with Friends of the Earth etc.
Friends of the Earth
Obviously biased but a powerful, environmental force. worth looking at.
Greenpeace UK
Obviously biased but like the FOE site worth looking at.
Sussex Wildlife Trust
Our local charity, HQ at Woods Mill near Small Dole.
:: Rainforests ::
All About Rainforests
is from the Enchanted Learning site. Do not be put off by the rather young format. It has some excellent information and activities.
Children's Tropical Rainforests (UK)
has a user-friendly site map and is very informative.
Heart of the Rainforest
Another Thinkquest site, it is easy to navigate and its information is about KS3+ level .
Project Rainforest
Another excellent Thinkquest site; very useful for study purposes.
Rainforest Action Network: Factsheets
Very useful for homework / project work but not aimed at children so quite advanced.
Rainforest Alliance: Education
Has a very useful Rainforest Resources section with some good activity ideas in these 'Kids & Teachers' pages.
Rainforest Live's 'Kidz Korner'.
Check out the Explore and the Media Gallery sections.
Rainforestweb.com
A HUGE resources link site - try their Resources for Kids page.

BBC: Science & Nature - Conservation
The usual high standard information and pictures.
Born Free Foundation
The Born Free Foundation campaigns for the protection and conservation of animals in their natural habitat and against the keeping of animals in zoos and circuses and as exotic pets.
Endangered Species
Although it has a US bias, it also offers excellent information and pictures on world wide concerns.
Just for Kids
This user-friendly site has an excellent 'Stuff to Do' section with interactive crosswords, puzzles etc. It is part of the Rare Species Conservatory Foundation website, useful for study purposes.
Kids' Planet
Has some superb animal fact sheets and some excellent interactive games. For anyone interested in wolves, their World Wide Wolves site is worth investigating.
Rainforestweb.com: Animals
Resource list of sites - not just of rainforest animals
Ranger Rick's Kids' Zone
T he Cool Tours are worth a visit. It is part of the American National Wildlife Federation site.
World Wildlife Fund for Nature
Excellent site for environmental concerns.
Young People's Trust for the Environment
A fairly new site so it is under development. Very good 'fact pages', e.g. for animals.
:: General sites ::
Amazon Interactive
is an educational site. Try the Quiz or the Ecosystem Game.
Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
UK government agency.
The Eden Project
'The living theatre of plants and people '

Cross-curricula activities, articles and games - particularly useful for Geography and Science.
Environment: A Global Challenge
This looks at many aspects in an informative manner. It is a huge site. Possibly the most useful section for study purposes is the 'Environmental Problems.
Care2
A commercial American site dedicated to saving the environment. It invites people to lobby the US government on green issues. It also raises funds by its 'click on the logo' tactic.
Edugreen India
This is the children's part of an Indian environmental site. Some of the information is 1999 but still useful, particularly for Geography.
Planet Ark
The home page of the American Reuters Daily World Environmental News. Although of an adult nature, it is certainly useful for study purposes, particularly KS4 and above.
Young People's Trust for the Environment
A fairly new site so it is under development. Very good 'fact pages', e.g. for animals.
