This is a term time project to support students at Portslade Community College to fulfill their potential. Membership is by referral only, through Key Stage Managers at PCC.
The Learning Zone aims to:
- Create a positive and welcoming working environment, which encourages achievement and builds on individual strengths.
- Provide a teaching and support programme to meet the needs of each individual student.
- Support students in raising their academic achievements, and help with coursework.
- Support students with lifestyle and home-based issues.
- Address and challenge students’ behaviour issues.
- Encourage and promote the development of students’ social skills.
- Help re-integrate non-attenders and excluded students back into school with a support package.
- Liaise with the school about the progress of students in the LZ.
- Liaise regularly with other support agencies.
- Develop a partnership of LZ, school, student and parent/carer.
