Over 52 Young People used the Village Centre for a number of activities

Climbing Wall

The bonus of working with others – Portslade Village Centre joined up with ‘Active for Life’ Project from Brighton & Hove Council and Adventure Unlimited to host an event of Rock Climbing
at Portslade Youth Centre.

Young People came from all areas of Portslade to join the event.

All young people were taught climbing skills and how to climb using safety equipment and to all work well as a team. The young people who came to the event, who had not attended the Village Centre before, said how welcoming they thought everyone was.

DJing Workshop

The Village Centre and Positive Activities – hosted an event to create a music soundtrack. We had MCs and DJs who helped a group of young people to create their own single.

Football Tournament

Seven young people aged between 13 and 15 years completed the Junior Football Organisers Award, held at the Village Centre during spring half term. They spent two days learning and practicing football coaching and organization skills. The course ended with a mini football tournament which was attended by young people aged 7 to 11 years olds from the local community.

The May 2007 activites were a success!
